As of Wednesday, summer is officially upon us, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. After doing research on the biggest and brightest interior designers, we’ve got this summer’s trends down. At BSG, we want you to be able to incorporate what we’ve learned into your home so you too can be up to date on the latest seasonal decor trends.

We already know that greenery was named the 2017 Pantone Color of the Year. We’ve seen this color on walls, carpeting, tablecloths, and more. Although we are obsessed, we have a feeling that yellow is the happy summer hue we’ve all been searching for. Try incorporating yellow furniture and decor pieces into your home this summer – take this table stand for example. From a fluorescent yellow to a light lemon, there is a plethora of color shade options for you to choose from for an instant mood-booster. If you’re afraid that this color may become too bright for your taste as the fall season approaches, stick to easily removable pieces as you begin your decor search.

From all the rain we’ve seen so far, we predict that June showers will bring July flowers this season. Floral 70s prints and vibrant, geometric patterns have begun to hit the market. This includes fun patchwork and vintage fabrics as shown above. Try mixing and matching home decor pieces to achieve this eclectic look. If you’re feeling extra bold, tie-dye pieces can be a great addition too on rugs and art work. Just because the Florida weather has been gloomy doesn’t mean your interior design can’t be bright.
Polka dots and black & white plaid are also back in style this summer season. Home decor has a way of aligning with runway fashion trends, and we’ve found that these spring/summer 2017 print designs have been popping up all over. This classic look is perfect for tablecloths and pleated shades. At BSG, our window treatments come in an extensive selection of colors and styles, including weaves, patterns, and textures, so we are here for you if you’re ready for an interior change.
Last but not least, metallics are most definitely a summer 2017 home decor trend. Classic vintage gold and brass are a glamorous addition to any living room or dining room. As you can see, the few gold accents above do not overpower the rest of the furniture in the room, but instead highlight and brighten the pieces. Don’t be afraid to incorporate these colors if you are looking for an enhancement in your home decor this summer.
Our take-away tip for the summer season? The bolder the better. We believe that trying out these different trends will allow your home to have a more modern and up-to-date feel.
